Job posting end date: 10/25/2024 Introduction to Role This role will be responsible for fitting & machining maintenance tasks and service activities relating to Metso OEM equipment components, complete machines, and spare parts.
This role is offered on an 8/6 roster and preference to residential applications will be given, however, those that have the ideal skill set based in Perth will also be considered. What you will do Work on manual lathes and milling machines. Machine parts according to drawing specifications and tolerance. Measure parts accurately and regularly check parts to be within tolerance. Accurate record keeping of parts machined and material used. Physical housekeeping in the machining area. Housekeeping and organised storage of CNC programs and other software. Machine preventative maintenance tasks. Repairs as required on all workshop machinery. Troubleshooting as required with and without vendor assistance if available. Assist in other areas of the workshop if required. Assist other tradesmen to undertake strip and assess and then rebuild of Metso Outotec fixed plant equipment including, but not limited to, crushers, crusher components, screens and screen parts, gearboxes, conveyor pulleys and drives, hydraulic units, slurry pumps, rail car and dumper components. Move from one task to another as required to meet production schedules. Train and mentor apprentices. Records, analyses and informs relevant personnel of production quality assurance. Informs of status and disposition of customer requirements specific to job progress and status. To succeed you will need Experience in machining small and large parts to tight tolerances. Experience in CNC Machining in a similar role preferred but not essential. Be passionate and competent in the trade and willing to develop skills and knowledge used in the industry. An energetic and a "can-do" attitude to various tasks and skills. Ability to learn to use a variety of tools and machinery. An enthusiastic approach to each new challenge. The ability to work well within a team, take instructions and learn from others. Good problem-solving skills and demonstrated attention to detail. Good communication skills both verbal and written. A strong commitment to both personal safety and the safety of others around them. Good aptitude for Math's. Dogman Certificate preferred but not essential.
