We acknowledge their continuing connection to their culture and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.Our perks and benefits:Aboriginal Support NetworkWork a 9-day fortnight at full pay on the Enterprise AgreementUp to 16 weeks paid parental leaveYearly corporate wear allowanceProfessional development and educational assistanceRemote Area Benefits based on work locationA supportive and inclusive work culture that embraces diversity, cultural understanding and valuesAn opportunity to work on country and be part of a team that is making a real difference in the NSW communities.Location: TamworthSalary range depending on experience: $75,931.00 + Super (Grade 4 Entry Level) OR $95,764.00 + Super (Grade 6)Tenure: Full Time, 12-Month TermWhat we are looking for:A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our businessSomeone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, have lived or currently liveA commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and valueUndergraduate degree or Diploma of Water Industry Operations, Science, Engineering, Asset Management, or equivalent experience in an appropriate fieldCompetent knowledge and use of various tools including battery operated tools and general tools used in the construction industryAwareness of and interest in natural resource management, particularly waterComputer literacy and ability to interpret data, work with specialist databases and monitor network performance.Current NSW Drivers LicenceDesirable: Experience using Hydstra database, strong swimming ability, Boat License, row a boat/kayak, work at heights, heavy lifting, and ability in driving four-wheel drive vehiclesWhat you will work on:Collect, process and manage Hydrometric surface water, groundwater and water quality monitoring data from a large remote monitoring networkCollect water quality samples as requested by internal or external stakeholders within assigned sites and in accordance with quality guidelines and relevant proceduresInstall, manage and maintain monitoring equipment and infrastructure to prescribed standardsReport on the performance of water monitoring sites from telemetered/non-telemetered datasets and seek instrumentation advice to identify/resolve issuesA willingness to travel overnight to remote/isolated locations throughout NSWContribute to continual improvement of the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems, audit programs and development of work instructions and procedures.Who is WaterNSW?WaterNSW operates the state's dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution – for the environment, agriculture, industry and the community.
