First Nations Strategic ConsultantBe a key player in driving reconciliation and cultural integrity within organisations as YarnnUp First Nations Strategic Consultant.Position PurposeAs our First Nations Strategic Consultant, you'll play a central role in guiding organisations to create lasting, positive impact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Working closely with client organisations, you'll help them develop and implement Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs), First Nations engagement frameworks, and impactful strategies in employment, procurement, and community engagement. Your cultural insight and strategic expertise will empower our clients to build strong, sustainable connections with First Nations communities and foster meaningful change.Key ResponsibilitiesRAP Implementation and Advisory SupportLead and support organisations through the creation and evolution of their RAPs, ensuring alignment with corporate frameworks and social impact goals. Conduct regular meetings (both virtual and in-person) with RAP working groups to review progress, tackle challenges, and strategise next steps. Offer on-demand consulting to divisional leads and teams, assisting them in operationalising RAP initiatives across their business. Develop resources—such as guides, business cases, and frameworks—that help clients implement best practices in RAPs tailored to their industry.Strategic Framework DevelopmentCreate and deploy First Nations Engagement Frameworks that resonate with clients' strategic goals and community values. Support First Nations Investment Strategies by advising on culturally competent and impactful investments. Facilitate stakeholder workshops and consultations to co-design strategies that are respectful and meaningful to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Employment and Procurement StrategiesGuide clients in creating employment pathways that foster meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Develop procurement strategies that promote engagement with Indigenous businesses, enhancing supply chain diversity. Produce toolkits to help clients align employment and procurement policies with RAP commitments and organisational values.Community Engagement and Relationship BuildingBuild and nurture respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, ensuring culturally safe and impactful client engagement. Organise and participate in community sessions to gather insights and refine client approaches for optimal outcomes. Engage in continuous knowledge-sharing with communities and stakeholders to improve client strategies.Resource Development and Best Practice InsightsResearch, develop, and share materials such as strategic guides, frameworks, and checklists to ensure industry-leading RAP practices. Establish metrics and evaluation methods for clients to assess RAP and program impacts. Stay informed on best practices across sectors to enhance client offerings and implementation outcomes.Key Selection CriteriaAboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Background: Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, with strong community connections and a deep understanding of First Nations culture, history, and social dynamics.Strategic Consulting Experience: Demonstrated experience providing strategic advice in RAP implementation, community engagement, and organisational change.RAP Expertise: Strong knowledge of RAP frameworks, including experience in employment, procurement, and social impact initiatives.Policy and Framework Development: Proven ability to design and implement frameworks or policies that drive positive, sustainable outcomes.Communication and Facilitation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience facilitating workshops and meetings with diverse stakeholders.Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in relationship-building with a commitment to creating inclusive, culturally respectful environments.Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.ESG, D&I, and CSR Knowledge: Understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance frameworks, Diversity & Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility in relation to RAP objectives.Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct research and provide evidence-based recommendations that support best practices in RAP and engagement strategies.Benefits and Professional DevelopmentOngoing Training: Access to professional development in reconciliation, social impact, and First Nations engagement.Flexible Work Options: Opportunities for flexible hours and remote work to support work-life balance.Impactful Work: Make a tangible difference in advancing reconciliation and building culturally safe, inclusive environments that benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a culturally-informed professional committed to advancing reconciliation and fostering meaningful social impact.
