Salary Range: SOF Level 3 -$33.17 to $34.58 Gross per hour + 12.75% superannuation

Good Counsel College, Innisfail Good Counsel College is a small, but growing, Catholic co-educational secondary school with a strong sense of community and pride that offers a quality and holistic educational experience for students in Years 7-12. It operates under the auspices of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns and enjoys collaborative partnerships with Catholic Primary schools in Tully, South Johnstone, Silkwood, Innisfail and Babinda whilst also welcoming students from state and other schools who are seeking a Catholic education for their children and who share our values.

About the Role The role and responsibilities of the First Nations Liaison Officer is primarily one of communication and liaison between diocesan schools, Catholic Education Services and local First Nations people, communities and agencies to increase student engagement and outcomes for First Nations students.
First Nations Liaison Officers play a key role in providing knowledge and understanding of First Nations histories, languages and cultures within schools. This understanding promotes respect and harmony. This role is conducted in collaboration with school staff and the school principal.
