We are a dynamic team of professionals who are committed to right people, right country, right path.About the roleAs a First Nations Engagement Advisor, you will play a vital role in fostering effective relationships and maintaining quality communication between QSNTS's service delivery teams and Traditional Owners. Reporting to the Deputy Principal Lawyer, you will support Traditional Owners in pursuing native title rights and assist prescribed corporate bodies in post-determination management.It is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) for the successful candidate to be an Indigenous person.Key responsibilitiesClient Management & Advocacy: Provide holistic support to QSNTS service delivery teams, contributing to client management plans and advising on cultural factors impacting the organisation's work with client groups.Project Management: Implement and monitor project management methodologies to help deliver client management plans, ensuring alignment with QSNTS's objectives.Capacity Building: Incorporate capacity development initiatives into project plans, facilitating workshops to support Traditional Owners in safeguarding and advancing native title interests.Communication & Updates: Share client activity updates and identified risks with the service delivery team, ensuring a collaborative approach to client engagement.Grant Applications: Develop funding and grant applications on behalf of client groups by sourcing and applying relevant research and data.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and external organisations, facilitating dispute resolution as required.Meeting Facilitation: Chair/facilitate meetings with Traditional Owners, ensuring they receive appropriate information throughout the native title claim process.About youKnowledge of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and its application.Proven project management skills, with experience in contributing to client management plans.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships.Understanding of social and cultural factors affecting Indigenous communities and an ability to offer tailored recommendations.Proficiency in research, data sourcing, and preparing funding and grant applications.Experience in capacity development and workshop facilitation.Knowledge of dispute resolution processes.Strong organisational and administrative skills.Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.A proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability.Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.What We OfferWe offer a range of employee benefits and programs designed to promote work-life balance, career development, and personal growth.
