About the Role
We are currently hiring a First Nations Advisor to join our Perth CBD based team. The key purpose of this role is to work closely with operational leaders and the People & Capability team to ensure that first nation strategies are achieved and support the business through building respectful relationships with the local aboriginal communities where we are active.
Key Responsibilities
Tender preparation, including strategy, project management plans as specified by the contract and DTI's Policies / Procedures and bid team strategic direction.
Aboriginal Stakeholder engagement initiatives including setting up regular strategic supplier / procurement opportunities for alliances on projects.
Contribute to positive social and economic outcomes including formulating the social inclusion strategy for the WA / SA business unit.
Deliver cultural awareness training across the BU and projects.
Promote First Nation employment opportunities / initiatives.
Act as a trusted advisor, facilitator, and leader in Aboriginal policy and process of DTI.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant degree or TAFE certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other associated disciplines such as communities or communications.
Demonstrable and successful hands-on' experience in a related First Nation Advisor role with 3+ years' operating as an effective First Nation advisor and being viewed as a credible, trusted Advisor; leader.
Experience, knowledge, and a sound understanding of contemporary First Nation management within a construction and project environment.
Demonstrated ability to proactively build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders / clients to support delivery and create business value.
Strong understanding of current Government policy and requirements specific to Social Procurement and Workforce Inclusion.
Strong experience in dealing with Indigenous businesses within the construction environment.
