Description of our business: We are an RTO based in Warrawong NSW, and we are looking for a First Aid Trainer to join our team.Purpose of role: Plan, deliver, and review training and assessments to meet the identified competency requirements of the target group, to the standard required by Achieve Training and Assessment Services and all regulatory bodies.Perform other duties as required that are listed in duties section belowResponsibilities of the role: To impart the knowledge, skills and attitude required for students to achieve competency in their chosen course and to follow all procedures and WHS legislation.You will be required to perform your duties at Warrawong, or elsewhere as reasonably directed by the employer.Duties include: Perform the Trainer/assessor role in an effective, professional manner.Train and assess in compliance with the requirements of the AQF standards.Attend each scheduled training/assessment session fully prepared and punctually before each session commences.Adhere to the assessment guidelines of the relevant national training package.Assist in the development of curriculum, training methods & resources.Deliver student administration paperwork for filing in a timely manner.Advise, assist and help students to develop their educational programs and make them aware of the facilities available.At all times be polite and pleasant to all students and do not get involved in political or opinion disputes/discussionsDeliver, assess, and administer the subjects that they have been employed for.Ensure that their learning and assessment strategies comply with the course structure.Participate in the student complaints and appeals process as required.Prepare lesson plans, subject outlines, handouts, assignments, and assessments for each subject taught.
All prepared material is required to be submitted to the Training Co-Ordinator at the conclusion of each subject.Maintain organisational version control for all training and assessment materials produced.Read all manuals, legislative documents and familiarise themself with all organisational requirements.Answer phone enquiries as needed.Record accurate attendance in the class daily.Enter results per competency unit on assessment summary sheets and submit to the administration manager at the completion of each subject.Ensure that all students are provided with the subject outlines and handouts for every subject.All the modules are to be assessed as per the requirements of the course and following the Training Centre's requirements.
The assessment criteria may vary between class attendance, class participation, assignments, practical work, trainer observation and written examination.Make all students aware of the date and time of assessments.To note any behaviour by a student considered to be in breach of appropriate behaviour by notifying the Training Co-OrdinatorDistribute feedback forms at the conclusion of each subject and at the conclusion of the course.Complete Trainer feedback forms on a regular basisParticipate in assessment validation meetings as required.Participate in Safety and Staff meetings as required.Initiate self-professional development.Participate in professional development activities to ensure currency of competency for the units being delivered.Maintain their own knowledge and skills at a level consistent with modern developments in education generally, and within their own areas of technical expertise.Insist that students always observe recognised safety practices on the institute's premises.Ensure that students are aware of their responsibilities under the WHS Act in the workplace.Insist students be exemplary in their own presentation.
This includes maintaining a high standard of dress, conduct and a professional attitude.Maintain the highest educational and training standards of Achieve Training & Assessment ServicesPerform daily pre-operational and maintenance checks on any related equipment used for training purposes.Perform routine maintenance on any related equipment used throughout the duration of the course.Perform repairs as required for identified failures on related equipment (if qualified)Ensure training room are clean and tidy at the end of each day (BINS EMPTIED AND TABLES CLEANED)Travel to different sites for the purpose of conducting training and or assessing as required.Report all incidents using the appropriate forms.Conduct safety audits as required.Qualifications and experience you are looking for in a candidate: 2 years or more experience in a similar roleCurrent TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and AssessmentCurrent First Aid Certificate: Minimum - HLTAID011 provide first aid.
Beneficial HLTAID014 Provide advanced first or similar.Qualifications and relevant experience to training programs delivered.Knowledge of RTO regulations and proceduresUnderstanding and previous experience in the use of online/e-learning / digital learning platforms and systems.Skills & competencies: Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels–written, phone and face to face.
Be always polite and pleasant to students.Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
To not get involved in personal or political disputes or discussions.Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.Commerciality: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner.Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.Personal attributes: Professional approach.Ability to work under pressure.Organisational and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail.Confident manner.Positive approach to change.Other: Intermittent stays away / travel for work may be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.Current/Valid NSW Driver's LicenceOwn vehicle / ability to travel for work purposesJob Type: Full-time
Pay: $79,040.00 – $98,800.00 per year
