Location ProfileGreat Ryrie Primary School was built in 1998 as a result of the amalgamation of three small, local schools. Our school is located approximately 20 kilometres east of the CBD. Our students are catered for at their individual point of need in classes by age across all years.
In 2024, our enrolment is approximately 555 students representing approximately 400 families. We have 57 full-time and part-time staff. The school also has the services of a School Chaplain.
Great Ryrie has a Student Family Occupation index of 0.364 which indicates that we are in the medium SFO percentile range and that overall our school is of medium socio-economic status. Approximately 30% of the school community receive CSEF.
Our school has a strong reputation in the local community and we celebrate the cultural diversity of our families, while providing quality learning programs in all curriculum areas. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities including extensive Performing Arts and Sports programs.

Role5 hours per day Monday to Friday during school terms; hours include a 30-minute lunch break as per the agreement (to be taken before the students' lunch break). Initial hours will be 9.30am- 2.30pm. There may be potential to increase hours. An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.

Anaphylaxis Management TrainingDiabetes in Schools training NDSS Level 222282VIC - Asthma ManagementValid Working With Children Check.ResponsibilitiesFirst aid Provide timely, high-quality, evidence-based primary health care to students and staff where appropriate within DE policy.Contact parents and emergency services as required.Coordinate the distribution of medical care forms, medication forms and action plans as required.Maintain sick bay including ordering, storing, cleaning of supplies and equipment.Maintain records of injuries and first aid and enter data on computerised recording systems.Assist with the provision of programs to support the wellbeing of students with chronic conditions.Co-ordinate first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma training and maintain accurate records.General Administration duties Routine clerical and administrative support.Liaise and provide information/support to community, students and staff.Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.Provide ad-hoc support to other ES staff within the school.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
