An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the First Aid Team as the 'First Aid Officer'!

The First Aid Department predominately undertakes the initial management of workers and guests suffering from injury and/or illness.
The First Aid Staff are required to provide care and attention with accidents and emergencies before professional medical care arrives or is required/available.
Applying first aid principles, the First Aid staff will ensure safety for themselves, the sick or injured and bystanders.
First Aid staff must know CPR and be able to care for the unconscious.
First Aid staff are competent and strictly adhere to the DRSABCD process.
This role is seeking an applicant who has a demonstrated ability to work in a high performance environment, with a capacity to deliver all requirements of the role, great work ethic and the ability to work well within high pressure situations.
Duties Include: Undertaking initial treatment of injuries and/or illnesses.Recording details of first aid given.Direct first aid weekly reporting and provide reports to the Chief Human Resource Officer.Undertake vehicle inspections weekly.Promoting First Aid services within the zoo.Assist with Crowd Control, and attend all large gatherings around the Zoo (For example; demonstrations, keeper talks and shows).Ordering of First Aid supplies and equipment – checking all invoices on receipt.Daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance of First Aid Rooms and First Aid Kits as scheduled.Complete First Aid Incident reports in full for staff and patrons requiring treatment.Provide comprehensive reporting on all emergencies.Assist management with budgetary and financial accountabilities.Assist with the formulation of First Aid management strategies, policies and procedures.Educate and improve awareness of other staff in initial responses for First Aid situations.Regular liaison with Workplace Health and Safety, and Human Resources.Welcoming special needs groups at admissions as requested.Knowledge of hazards of the working environment.Advanced First Aid Qualifications (First Aid, CPR, Defibrillator and O2 Administration).Flexibility and availability to work weekends, public holidays and school holidays.Ability to work within a fast paced, and high pressure environment.A demonstrated ability of good judgement and the ability to make great decisions under pressure.Preferred Criteria: Experience within a similar environment.Apply for this job below.
