And that's not all - we provide flexible start and finish times.Primary ResponsibilityThe Firmware Engineering Manager is a functional leadership role responsible for managing people and their careers within Firmware Engineering for Ultra Maritime Australia. Firmware Engineering Managers will complete Firmware Engineering tasks, including Project Leadership and Technical Execution, for the remainder of their time deployed on projects for Ultra Maritime Australia.Key Responsibilities:Provide Firmware Engineering functional leadership.Ensure appropriate Firmware Engineering personnel are available for customer funded projects, internally funded projects such as Internal Research & Development (IRAD) and Bids & Proposals (B&P) initiatives, and other planned activities as necessary.Manage talent and development of Firmware Engineering personnel including hiring, retention, performance feedback, mentoring, and career planning.Identify, develop, and implement new or updates to existing Firmware Engineering policy, processes, and procedures.Ensure the provision of required Firmware Engineering tools and equipment.Support and provide input to the annual budgeting process for Firmware Engineering.Provide input to Ultra Maritime's technology roadmap development.Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) activities.Provide input to develop Ultra Maritime's vision and strategic plan.Promulgate Ultra Maritime vision, strategies, goals, and initiatives.Uphold, safeguard, and promote Ultra Maritime's values.Key Competency Requirements:Ability to enhance Firmware Engineering team engagement through improved staff retention.Ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback to direct reports.Ability to manage and resolve conflict.Understanding of the whole project lifecycle.Understanding financial implications of Firmware Engineering decisions.Understanding of Ultra Maritime Company Standard Procedures.Understanding of the interface between Engineering and other areas of Ultra Maritime Australia.Why it's great to work for Ultra Maritime!Work a 9-day fortnight;Option to purchase additional leave;Employee Assistance Program;Wellbeing Program;Free on-site car parking;Free coffee/tea/soft drinks and fruit;CFS/SES/Reservist Paid Leave;Professional development and study assistance.The successfully appointed candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a current Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1).Diverse & Inclusive EmployerUltra Maritime values diversity, inclusion, equity, and equality.
