Job Overview Are you ready to take on the challenge of ensuring safety for the community? Join the Jensen Hughes team as a fire safety engineer and help us protect lives and properties through utilizing your engineering skills to develop innovative solutions!
We are a team who ensure that buildings and structures are designed and equipped with the necessary measures to prevent fires, maximizing safety for everyone who steps inside. We employ various techniques and advanced technologies to assess risks, analyze materials utilized in construction, and determine the best strategies to prevent, contain, and fight fires.
As an engineering consultant, you will be involved in providing advice and recommendations to clients on the fire safety of their building projects. Your role will be to work with clients to understand their problems, develop solutions and implement them in practical ways. This role will expose you to a diverse range of projects and clients, offering you the opportunity to develop practical experience and knowledge across a variety of industries.
Responsibilities Undertake fire safety engineering analysis, fire and evacuation modelling, risk assessment and site visits / inspections under supervision to evaluate fire safety of buildings and infrastructurePreparation of reportsLiaise with clients and design teams and discuss / negotiate with the fire brigades and approval authoritiesParticipation in site and final inspectionsContribute positively to an enjoyable and productive team environment, consistent with Jensen Hughes valuesRequirements and Qualifications University engineering undergraduate degree or higherExperience gained working in fire safety engineering consultancy environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThe ability to write clear and concise reportsThe ability to work within a team environmentExperience and knowledge of the National Construction Code – Building Code of Australia is an advantageKnowledge and proficiency with computer-based fire and evacuation models is an advantageShould be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or holding a valid Work Visa in AustraliaWhy you should join Jensen Hughes Our company's great culture makes it a truly special place to work.
