Job Description The Fire Protection Sales Representative will focus on developing multi market business in a given territory for all of the company's engineered products and solutions by calling on engineering firms and contractors and supporting the local Victaulic distributors. Market focus will be fire protection systems. This position requires commitment to extensive overnight travel as required. Responsibilities: Promote to sell company products, concepts and services to prospects, specifiers, buyers, distributors and usersResearch and report marketplace and competitive information for sales strategy planning and reviewDevelop sales objectives, strategies and forecasts and concur with your managerBuild and maintain good relationships with clients, prospects and distributorsDevelop and implement suitable promotion plans, with the help and approval of your manager, such as group presentations, regional shows, training seminars, branch visits and installation toursFind and follow major construction, expansion or retrofit projects with Victaulic sales potentialCooperate with the corporate sales effort when sales influences are inter-territorialDevelop territory distributors to maintain the required customer service levelComply with pricing guidelines or make recommendations for special pricing for your manager's approvalContinuously improve customers' written specifications for Victaulic productsGain complete information for all quotation requisitions including application, specification, pricing and timing requirementsMaintain up to date knowledge and skill for your job and advise your manager of any training needsCooperate with inside sales, engineering and other support staff to ensure good teamwork to meet customer requirementsParticipate in your quality workgroup meetings and strive for continuous improvement in your workReport activities, progress, market information, new ideas, expenses and other relevant data as appropriate or as requestedDesired Skills & Experience Two to five years of outside sales experience, calling on the construction industry with specific knowledge or background in one or more of the following industries preferred: (HVAC, industrial, building products, mining, oil, municipal, or pipe, valve, & fittings industry).Evidence of the ability to interact effectively with contractors, owners, and distributors to build long-term relationships.Strong organizational and communication skills, above average mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interact with a diverse customer base.A four-year university degree in engineering, business or liberal arts.Willingness to travel.Salary: $75 – 95k (based on experience) + (car, uncapped commission & bonus) Victaulic is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming applicants without discrimination based on age, race, colour, national origin, citizenship, religion, creed, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
