We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Assayer to join our dynamic team based near Perth Airport.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in analyzing materials to determine the composition and value of precious metals, following rigorous safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities include however, not limited to: Accurately perform weighing, fluxing, firing, knocking up, and cupellation of samples in correct numerical order, adhering to established quality control (QC) procedures to prevent contamination.
Manage the recycling and disposal of pots, slag, cupels, and other waste materials in line with company standards and environmental regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in fire assay areas, ensuring good housekeeping practices and performing basic (non-trades) maintenance of fire assay equipment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and work to minimize the creation of lead dust in compliance with safety protocols.
Complete all relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure effective communication processes are followed within the team and across departments.
Qualifications The successful applicant will have the following: Valid driving license.
First Aid certification.
Previous experience working as a fire assayer.
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and self-development while supporting the development of others.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality results with attention to detail and efficiency.
Forklift license (desirable but not essential).
