Excellent Customer Experience and Service DeliveryGreat Organisational CultureInnovation and Continuous ImprovementGood Governance and IntegrityLong Term Financial SustainabilityThe role: The Financial Planning Analyst is an integral position within the Financial Planning & Analysis team, responsible for supporting the Coordinator, Financial Planning & Analysis and Manager of Finance to deliver department objectives, with a strong emphasis on financial budget and forecast development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management.
Further, you will be required to apply well developed engagement skills, creative problem-solving skills and specialised financial management skills in the provision of advice and guidance to internal clients, to assist in the understanding of key financial and business drivers of the organisation.
About you: To be considered for this position you will have:
Tertiary qualification in accounting or related discipline and CPA or CAANZ membership.Demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial/management reporting in an organisation with complex business systems and a diverse range of services.Experience with Magiq Performance budgeting and reporting system.Well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders (finance and non-finance).Demonstrated experience in developing and performing data analytics, utilising extensive Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to manage large data and present findings in engaging ways.Demonstrated organising and planning skills with the ability to change priorities accordingly.Demonstrated ability to challenge/change the status quo: an enquiring mind backed with data driven insights.In return, we will offer: The ability to make a difference: Working at Whitehorse City Council you contribute to making a real difference in the lives of the community and those that live, learn, work or visit Whitehorse.
