Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant Tas Ports is a state-owned company responsible for ten Tasmanian ports and Devonport Airport.

The role We're seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant to join our Strategy & Performance team.
You'll bring specialist knowledge and experience in preparation of budgets and forecasts, long term modelling, performance reporting, treasury and building rapport with various stakeholders.
You'll also thrive in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
As a Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant you will provide comprehensive, timely, effective and efficient financial support, enabling informed decision-making processes to Tas Ports and its subsidiaries.
The role requires high level analytical skills and financial expertise, to contribute to the organisation's overall strategic goals and objectives.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Launceston.
Key role responsibilities Key contributor to development of the Tas Ports long-term and short-term financial planning functions as well as ongoing performance reporting to internal stakeholders.
Establish performance metrics, assess performance against expectations and report on business planning results against targets on a monthly basis.
Conduct regular performance reporting analyses and provide observations to key stakeholders.
Analyse Treasury requirements of the business based on consolidated data provided by the Business Units.
Strategic Financial Guidance: Collaborate closely with business units to provide financial guidance, assisting them in understanding their financial performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and mitigating potential risks.
What you can bring to the role The key experience we are looking for includes: High level practical financial management skills with strategic commercial awareness.
Demonstrated financial modelling experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a knack for identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies within financial data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear, articulate and concise manner.
Demonstrated proficiency in building relationships and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams across different Business Units.
What you will have 5+ years post-graduate experience and relevant experience in a previous senior finance role.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
CAANZ or CPA or equivalent qualification or progression towards.
Current Driver Licence.
Capability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
