Moneycare provide support to people who are in financial difficulty or hardship or are wishing to avoid such situations. We assist people to gain money management skills, make positive financial decisions and develop long term financial resilience. help The role you could playIn this role you would be providing financial counselling for people who are in financial difficulty or hardship, or are wishing to avoid such situations. As well as, developing options that alleviate financial hardship, build financial resilience and improve personal wellbeing.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver financial literacy education workshops with a strong focus on supporting people to build longer term capability by developing skills to plan for their financial future       Service delivery is provided in accordance with The Salvation Army standards and procedures and The Salvation Army Moneycare Practice Framework, aligned with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.Individual casework plans are developed in collaboration with community members, recognising the ways in which other life issues may interact with personal financial issues.Ongoing assessment is made of community member issues, needs and circumstances from initial contact to exitCommunity members are assisted to access other support services and establish community supports if applicable.  A person centred, holistic, non- judgmental and relational approach is taken in all work; work within a model of empowerment, encouraging self-determination and participation.??This role is a full-time permanent role based in Darwin. We are looking for both Fianacial Counsellor and also financial capability worker. This role will be working across multiple locations and must be willing to travel.Based on the role, the ideal candidate would haveFinancial CounsellorRequired to hold the Diploma of Financial CounsellingMust be an accredited or working towards being an accredited member of a state based recognised financial counselling association (SAFCA)Financial Capability WorkerRelevant experience in a social service environment and/or a good understanding of issues that can cause financial hardship and financial exclusionHold Cert IV in Community ServicesHold Financial Literacy Education Skill Set or willing to complete within six months of being employedBoth roles require Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language Knowledge of local Aboriginal Communities and Culture? Ability to meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures Demonstrated ability to work with different cultures and backgrounds Demonstrated money management and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability to work with people suffering difficulties and crisis Relevant state Working with Children Check is requiredDrivers LicenceA national police record check is required Benefits working with The Salvation ArmyNFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefitsEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling serviceFinancial, retail and lifestyle discounts and benefitsDiscounted health and fitness programs through Fitness PassportUp to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave schemeGenerous Parental Leave offering of 12 weeksUp to 5 days paid leave per year to support a TSA program or activityAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution
