As Geoscape's Financial Controller, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial control and statutory reporting. Your focus will be on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results, while supporting sustainable, profitable growth aligned with the company's strategic business plans.WHO WE'RE LOOKING FORAn experienced Financial Controller who will be the link between financial operations and strategy. A Financial Controller's job duties and responsibilities generally include but are not limited to:Managing the accounting and finance departmentsManaging the monthly financial and quarterly Board reportingPreparation of timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports ensuring all statements comply with relevant Australian Accounting Standards (AASBs)Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and forecastsEnsuring compliance with statutory law, finance, and tax regulationsOverseeing Treasury and Taxation functionsManaging external banking relationshipsMaintenance and documentation of accounting procedures & policiesSolving technical accounting issuesMaintaining relationships with external auditors and banksOverseeing Financial Systems and external providers of systems management and system upgradesIdentifying areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costsEstablishing and maintaining a product margin frameworkAnalyzing sales and product data to identify industry segments and other trends and growth opportunitiesTeam Management including mentoring and staff developmentWorking closely with the Executive Leadership team to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunitiesAble to communicate on finance-related matters to non-accounting/finance stakeholders and colleaguesSKILLSWe look forward to you providing examples of your skills and experience in:Minimum 10 years of accounting experienceThorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (including Australian Accounting Standards & GAAP)Experience with creating financial statements (for a public company)Ability to motivate and lead teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersExcellent organization and administration skillsEnergetic and motivated personality with great multi-taskingAble to work under pressure to tight deadlinesIntermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel, Power BI and ERP accounting packages (MYOB Advanced ERP experience preferred but not essential)Bachelor's degree in accountingProfessional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPATOOLS WE USESome of the tools we use in our day-to-day work include:MYOB AdvancedMicrosoft Office 365JiraSlackHOW WE WORKWe're passionate about building a smarter, more productive Australia and we put our people first in the decisions we make.
