With excellent business and growth opportunities, BEC is looking for a Financial Controller to join our West Perth based team.
About the role As Financial Controller reporting to the Managing Director, you will be part of the senior leadership team responsible for all aspects of the accounting and finance operations of the business.
You will be responsible for the organisation's financial records structured around the preparation of monthly management accounts, provide accurate and timely reports to management to enable strategic and operational decisions as required and assist in business processes and improvement to ensure smooth operations.
You will: Financial Management Preparing monthly management accounts including a narrative report on budget variances. Provide regular cash flow information to assist forecast payments. Prepare reports on a monthly basis for the Directors. Liaise with auditors and external tax accountants. Development, implementation and operation of systems and procedures to ensure the integrity of accounting information and safe custody of assets. Annual preparation of detailed financial budgets and cash flows. Attendance at monthly accounts meeting and management review. Accounting Procedures Monthly Client Invoicing. Completion of monthly GST returns and ensure compliance with GST responsibilities. Completion of annual FBT returns and Tax compliance. Processing payroll, superannuation and year-end reconciliations. Preparation of annual accounts information as required by external accountants. Management of debtors and debt collection. Maintenance of asset register. Skills and Experience Required Accounting qualification with 5+ years of accounting experience. Team player – emphases group goals, volunteer's assistance and actively contributes to success. Excellent written communication to write clear, concise documents. Excellent analytical skills to apply logic and clear thinking in assessing situations and information. Excellent organisational skills to plan and organise workload and prioritise work to meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail to process information accurately and effectively, showing concern for quality in all work. Possess self-motivation and commitment to demonstrate a will to successfully fulfil all aspects of the position. Possess good judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word) Highly Desirable CPA qualification or studying toward achieving accreditation. Previous experience working in a commercial environment.
