Brief Overview
The purpose of the role is to oversee all areas of finance including payroll, payables, receivables, reporting and legal compliance. The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in providing financial advice and guidance relating to the commercial and operational aspects of the growing business.

The Role
Overseeing all areas of finance including payroll processing, payables, receivables, financial reporting and maintaining best practice with industry standards.
Supervise direct reports including resourcing, leave management and performance management in line with company policies and procedures.
Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting department and staff.
Be an active member of the management team by partnering with all key stakeholders.
Monitor actual operational and capital expenditure and analyse, investigate, and report on variances, initiating corrective actions where necessary. Updating forecasts and running scenarios to forecasts for management consideration.
Manage and track production costs and variances within the finance system.
Ensure timely processing of all company taxes and employee entitlements, including all the timely BAS lodgements for all entities.
Focus on reporting of information e.g. board packs, forecasting, cash flows etc., and assistance with the more commercial/operational decisions that the business needs to make.
The ideal candidate
Certifications: Chartered Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) certified.
Team management experience.
Comprehensive understanding of Australian tax laws, the Goods and Services Tax (GST), and the Australian Business Activity Statements (BAS).
Strong analytical and strategic skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of detail and accuracy.
Experience with compliance in Australian corporate governance.
