A leading not-for-profit aged care organisation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their team.
This pivotal role will see you take the lead in shaping and executing financial strategy and operations, reporting directly to the CEO and Board.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in the NFP sector, with a strong focus on aged care, and a proven track record in process optimisation, financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to the Board.

Key Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end finance function, including overseeing payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.Manage a team of six direct reports (Accountant, Payroll Officer, Finance Officer, Software support, Trainer, and IT Officer).Contribute to the creation and execution of the 5-year strategic plan and develop one-year strategic initiatives for the Finance Department.Lead the development, planning, and execution of key infrastructure projects, ensuring financial feasibility and timely completion.Regularly review the department's structure to ensure it aligns with the organisation's strategy and recommend adjustments where required.Develop and review a comprehensive financial risk management framework and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Ensure that financial processes comply with all internal policies, industry standards, and government regulations specific to the not-for-profit sector (e.g., Aged Care Standards, Taxation, Financial Reporting Requirements).Identify, secure, and manage funding opportunities from government grants, private donors, and other sources to ensure financial stability.
Ensure that the revenue model supports the organisation's mission while also being sustainable.Regularly engage with the Board and committees to provide updates, solicit feedback, and ensure alignment on financial and risk management strategies.Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and comprehensive financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders (Board, management, regulators, etc.).
Ensure that financial reports provide clarity on the organisation's financial position and performance.Qualifications: CPA/CA qualified essentialA minimum 7-10 years experience in a similar role.Experience in NFP/Aged care essentialProven track record of managing the end-to-end finance function, including payroll oversight.Strong experience in project management and process improvements.Exposure to various systems, experience in Epicor will be highly regarded.Apply today!
