As Geoscape's Financial Controller, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial control and statutory reporting. Your focus will be on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results, while supporting sustainable, profitable growth aligned with the company's strategic business plans.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
An experienced Financial Controller who will be the link between financial operations and strategy. A Financial Controller's job duties and responsibilities generally include but are not limited to:
Managing the accounting and finance departments
Managing the monthly financial and quarterly Board reporting
Preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports ensuring all statements comply with relevant Australian Accounting Standards (AASBs)
Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
Ensuring compliance with statutory law, finance, and tax regulations
Overseeing Treasury and Taxation functions
Managing external banking relationships
Maintenance and documentation of accounting procedures & policies
Solving technical accounting issues
Maintaining relationships with external auditors and banks
Overseeing Financial Systems and external providers of systems management and system upgrades
Identifying areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs
Establishing and maintaining a product margin framework
Analyzing sales and product data to identify industry segments and other trends and growth opportunities
Team Management including mentoring and staff development
Working closely with the Executive Leadership team to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities
Able to communicate on finance-related matters to non-accounting/finance stakeholders and colleagues
SKILLS
We look forward to you providing examples of your skills and experience in:
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (including Australian Accounting Standards & GAAP)
Experience with creating financial statements (for a public company)
Ability to motivate and lead teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent organization and administration skills
Energetic and motivated personality with great multi-tasking
Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel, Power BI and ERP accounting packages (MYOB Advanced ERP experience preferred but not essential)
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA
