They've tasked us with sourcing their Financial Controller, a brand new role that sits below a highly experienced Finance Director but with strong potential for the successful candidate to succeed this person (2-3 year action plan).
This is a full permanent, full-time opportunity that can offer hybrid and flexible working potential for the right candidate.This is a pivotal role within the company where the successful candidate will work closely with the existing Finance Director, assuming key operational responsibility for the day-to-day success of the finance function.
The successful candidate will also assume frontline support of a small but experienced accounting team.
Key features of the role include:Lead responsibility for transactional accounting protocols and maintaining robust internal controlsManagement of a small but experienced team including an accomplished Assistant AccountantWork closely with the Finance Director across all aspects of the company's ongoing financial strategy and growth projectsProduction of weekly, monthly and quarterly management reportsAllocation of frequently complex income and funding streamsWork with FD to produce high-quality budget packsTreasury controlsCost controlsEnsure compliance with all relevant reporting standardsIdentify and implement improvements to the functionProduction and delivery of detailed management accountsAssist with annual auditsDeputise for FD during periods of absenceOversee payroll for almost 200 staffWe're looking for an exceptionally well-trained and experienced Financial Controller that possesses strong technical experience with sound commercial judgement.
We're open to applicants operating at a similar level currently, or seeking a step up, perhaps from Finance Manager or a highly experienced Assistant Accountant.We're seeking a candidate who feels as comfortable with management reporting as they do statutory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and benchmarking.
Our client is open to both part/fully professionally qualified applicants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or with very strong vocational experience (QBE), and/or AAT.
