As we expand our capabilities and client base, we're looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Gold Coast.
This role is vital to ensuring our financial stability as we continue to grow and innovate.The RoleAs Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing Venue Smart's financial operations, including reporting, compliance, and budgeting, ensuring we maintain a strong foundation to support business expansion.
Working alongside the COO and preparing for the transition of an incoming CFO, you'll lead strategic initiatives that shape our financial strategies, improve efficiency, and maximise profitability.
We offer flexibility in this role, including the option for part-time work if suited to the right candidate.Key responsibilities include:· Overseeing day-to-day financial operations such as accounts payable, receivable, and payroll· Preparing comprehensive financial reports, including monthly and annual statements, to inform decision-making· Leading budgeting and forecasting efforts to align with strategic goals and track financial performance· Managing cash flow and ensuring sufficient working capital to support ongoing and new projects· Developing and maintaining internal control systems that comply with Australian regulations and industry standards· Coordinating with external auditors and managing tax compliance requirements (GST, BAS)· Conducting detailed financial analysis to identify opportunities for growth and cost optimisation· Collaborating with the tech team to enhance internal systems, driving process improvements for efficiencyYour ProfileWe are looking for someone with:· A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CA certification preferred· At least 5 years of experience in financial management, ideally in fintech, payment services, or a fast-growing sector· Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, with solid knowledge of Australian accounting standards· Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial insights to non-financial stakeholders· The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment· A collaborative mindset and flexibility to accommodate different working arrangements, including part-time optionsNext StepsThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Financial Controller to join a dynamic and growing fintech company.
