As we continue to grow and take on new challenges, we are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to be a key driver of our financial management and strategic implementation efforts. About the Opportunity We are searching for an experienced, energetic and proactive Financial Controller. Reporting to the Managing Director, CFO and leadership team, this position requires someone who can ensure our financial systems and processes are developed to support the diversified operations. This is a key position that will be the link between the business's strategic intentions and the execution. There are also hands-on elements that will require the successful applicant to work at a granular level with staff, clients, suppliers and advisors. The business has external accounting and finance support and this role encompasses internal and external coordination and communication. Location: The role will ideally be based in Darwin, although consideration will be given to all applicants. Should the successful candidate not be based in Darwin, then they will be required to regularly attend the Darwin office. Amaroo will consider applicants who may need to have flexible workplace arrangements. Role Overview Key Tasks Development and implementation of financial and operational systems Payroll processing and staff reimbursements Short term cash flow forecasting Control day to day movements of cashflow in conjunction with the Executive team. Input and support to job tendering processes Weekly invoicing of clients Job performance reporting Assistance with 3 way budgeting processes. Coordinating accounts payable functions and liaison with creditors Working with the bookkeeping team, attending to queries and month end close off Assistance with Board reports and KPI's Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership: Supporting the implementation of the financial strategy, working with the CFO, including budgeting, forecasting, to support business growth and sustainability. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations with accounting data collection and support. Operational Efficiency: Assist with streamlining financial processes and systems to improve efficiency reporting and analysis. Risk Management: Support the risk management framework. Team Alignment : Be a primary conduit for the finance team, working with internal and external specialised resources. Support: Managing Director and CFO in executing the finance strategy. About You CA or CPA qualified well regarded but not essential. Experience with growth environments. Experience in project style businesses Already 2 – 4 years in a similar role. Excellent in organisational skills Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and ready to make a significant impact.
