The role:As the Financial Controller, you'll lead a stable finance team of four, ensuring the organisation's financial operations run smoothly—timely, accurate, and fully compliant. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, you'll be at the forefront of key financial decisions, supporting the organisation's mission and driving continuous improvement. The role is based in North-West Sydney.
Key responsibilities: Lead and mentor the finance team, overseeing accounts, payroll, and resource purchasing.Supervise accounting systems, expense management, and payroll.Manage statutory compliance, including GST, BAS, PAYG, FBT, and Workers Compensation Returns.Keep the organisation's cash flow in check and provide strategic financial recommendations.Prepare monthly financial accounts, reconciling key reports for analysis and management decisions.Craft Board reporting packs, grant reconciliations, acquittal submissions, and annual budgets with precision.Partner with other areas of the business such as operations, marketing, and the ELT.Drive continuous improvement projects.You:We're seeking a bright and engaging team player with a strong financial background, ideally with previous large NFP experience. Alongside:
A Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field and completed CA or CPA qualification.10+ years of experience in similar roles.Empathetic and patient leadership qualities.Strong in technical accounting.System savvy (use of large ERPs, accounting software, and payroll software a bonus).Leadership experience driving small teams to success.For further information, feel free to contact Jon Wright on or or Emily Matthews on or .
