About Us  Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). 
The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools and ELCs. These Service Areas include; Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology and People and Culture.

About the Role As the Financial Compliance Manager for CE, you will lead part of the Financial Control team in meeting its statutory reporting, tax and public funding compliance requirements.
The role of the Financial Compliance Manager is to ensure CE's ongoing compliance with regulatory external agencies including to GST, FBT, ABS surveys, and related party transaction assessments and registers. The function is responsible for documenting, testing, and maintaining the finance risk/control framework in order to provide recommendations for better control management. Using best practice methodologies, the Financial Compliance Manager will drive positive change, improving organisational financial compliance and mitigate potential financial risks.

Review of the BAS monthly for the system and other entities. Preparation of FBT on an annual basis for the system and other entities. Ensuring compliance with ABS reporting. Assessing related party transactions for RMV purposes. Maintaining related party registers for the system and other entities. Assist in the preparation of statutory reporting. Providing subject matter expertise to team members on tax, compliance or regulatory issues and matters. Assisting project ledger maintenance ensuring data integrity and monitoring for compliance. Managing the preparation of capital project grants acquittal. Accounting duties including month-end, processing journals, generating system reports, calculating, and posting of accruals, provisions, and adjustments. Production of input for accurate and timely monthly and annual statutory and regulatory reporting. Assisting the operating effectiveness of key financial controls and assisting in the completion of the annual external audit. Maintain accounting documents and records, ensuring all files are up to date. Support the wider Finance Control Team related ad-hoc tasks as requested. Qualifications  Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Accounting/Business. CPA or CA qualified Minimum of 5 years' experience across similar Finance roles. Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or willingness to obtain. Experienced in TechOne/CiA Financial Management System is desirable. Current Driver's License Selection Criteria  Professional experience and working knowledge with computer software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point) and electronic document applications. A focus on detail and a willingness to be responsible for their work. Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Written and verbal communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively both within and across teams. Excellent time management capabilities. Compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. Experience in preparation of BAS, FBT, ABS Submissions, related party registers and annual financial reporting. Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
