Opportunity for an experienced financial adviser to join a small motivated team in a growing business focused on delivering quality advice and service.
Your Key Duties & Responsibilities As an experienced financial adviser, you will provide initial and ongoing advice services to new clients, building on your client base and the strong reputation of Steel Lake Advisory Services.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Proactive engagement with new clients Provide tailored advice to a wide range of clients and financial positions Adhere to compliance policies and procedures Grow and retain a client base for ongoing advice Your Skills & Experience This role would suit a highly motivated and hard-working individual who is passionate about providing quality advice and service to a wide range of clients and positions.
Your skills and experience will include:
Experience as a financial adviser Strong technical knowledge of superannuation, investments, tax, and insurance Exceptional attention to detail Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines Ability to work autonomously and display initiative Awareness of compliance requirements with an excellent compliance and file audit record FASEA education and exam requirements met. Listed on the FAR register as being able to provide tax (financial) advice Benefits & Culture Paraplanning and administration services are provided in-house and through external providers. We also have streamlined processes and CRM to help deliver efficient and quality advice to a large client base. So the focus of the adviser will be to meet with clients, provide advice, manage ongoing relationships, and seek new business.
We are advertising for a full-time position with work 5 days per week in our Warners Bay office, although we will be happy to accept applications from candidates that require flexible work hours. Naturally, there may be clients that are only available to be seen outside standard business hours including evenings or on Saturdays. You will have the flexibility to manage your own calendar to find balance in your work week to see clients, complete the necessary work, and achieve KPIs and personal targets.

About the Company Steel Lake Advisory Services started from humble beginnings like our Senior Adviser and Principal, Jace Cordell. Born and bred in the 'Steel City' of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, Jace was inspired to help people achieve their financial goals after seeing someone close to him experience both financial and emotional pain from poor investment advice. Their best interest was not put first, and they were not educated on the risks.
Jace prides himself on having a trusting and honest relationship with his clients, to ensure they fully understand their financial strategy and to ultimately achieve their desired outcomes.
He has built the business on this philosophy. Opening in 2015 as part of the Mortgage Choice Financial Planning (FinChoice) franchise, then changing name and licensee in 2021 to what it is today.
Whilst Steel Lake Advisory Services has expanded from Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, to now providing personal financial advice to clients across Australia and internationally; we have stayed true to our roots and will continue to maintain our personalised, client-focused approach at the core of what we do.
