Our client, a reputable ASX-listed company, is on the lookout for a Financial Accounting Manager to enhance their finance team. This permanent role is perfect for an experienced accountant with leadership ambitions, ready to contribute to a high-performing team through a wide range of financial and reporting responsibilities.
As the Financial Accounting Manager, you will:
Report to a commercially astute leader, overseeing a finance team of five and ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the finance function.
Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment.
Manage the end-to-end monthly financial close process, including detailed reviews and commentary.
Oversee transaction processing, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.
Review and sign off on balance sheet accounts and reconciliations for the group, ensuring compliance with AASB standards.
Lead the preparation of the group's half-year and full-year financial statements and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ASX and ASIC reporting standards.
Oversee CAPEX and work-in-progress accounting, ensuring transactions adhere to internal policies and are recorded accurately and timely.
Review month-end analysis and commentaries for the group, delivering insightful balance sheet and cash flow analysis compared to prior periods.
Manage the delivery of the Annual Report, ensuring it is completed accurately and submitted to agreed timelines.
Drive continuous improvements in transaction processing with a focus on innovation, simplification, and automation to enhance process efficiency.
Prepare technical accounting papers and act as a resource for technical accounting queries.
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes as required.
Collaborate closely with the CFO and management, providing support on various projects and ad hoc tasks, as well as offering strategic insights for financial decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have:
CA/CPA qualification with a solid foundation in technical accounting.
Experience managing the audit process and preparing comprehensive internal and external financial reports.
Proficiency in ERP systems, along with advanced Excel skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive efficiencies, ideally with experience delivering process improvements.
Strong understanding of ASX and ASIC reporting standards and disclosure requirements.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
