We are seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to join a dynamic team within an iconic Queensland business. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the organization, overseeing a team of eight within the financial accounting sector (four direct reports).

Responsibilities: Financial Statements: preparation and delivery of financial statements for the organization. The successful candidate will lead the team through this process, ensuring timely completion and adherence to statutory requirements. Tax Management: Managing various tax obligations, including GST, fringe benefits, payroll tax, and income tax, falls within the purview of this role. While extensive tax background is not required, experience in leading teams through tax return preparation and reporting processes is advantageous. Fixed Assets: Overseeing asset accounting, including improvement initiatives, is a key aspect of this role. The successful candidate will navigate the complexities of fixed asset management, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations while driving continuous improvement. Business Improvement and Financial Systems: In addition to core responsibilities, the role will involve participation in business improvement projects, particularly in the realm of financial systems. Experience in IT system delivery and familiarity with control frameworks is highly desirable. Leadership and Team Development: Managing a team of four direct reports, with oversight of additional sub-teams, requires strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative and supportive team environment while driving individual and collective performance. Qualifications: Previous experience with leading financial teams and managing complex projects, ideally within a Big4 audit environment. Proven experience with tax reporting and compliance procedures. Strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day operations with long-term goals. Experience with financial system implementations and control frameworks is an asset. A true leader that enjoys building capability and supporting career development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
