Their payments platform enables customers to make micropayments and has a hand in provision of services that impacts millions of people.
As a Financial Accountant you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Working closely with the team, the role will cover financial reporting and accounting functions, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards, and contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes.
The Challenge Reporting to the Head of Finance, key responsibilities will include: Month-End Closing Tasks: Post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
Review financial statements for discrepancies.
Oversee junior accountant's month-end work.
Calculate Transfer Pricing journals for profit splits.
Reconcile intercompany transactions and manage intercompany matrix.
Year-End Reporting: Assist in preparing year-end financials (Australian standards).
Support year-end audits, providing documentation and liaising with auditors.
Prepare audit schedules and assist with finding resolution.
Audit Support: – Prepare audit schedules and gather supporting documentation for the year-end audit process.
– Liaise with external auditors to facilitate audit procedures and respond to inquiries.
Assist in the resolution of audit findings and implement recommended improvements to internal controls and processes.
Profit and Loss Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly P&L for management.
Contribute to board pack preparation and performance reports.
Process Improvement: – Identify and implement process improvements.
– Streamline reporting systems and procedures.
Ad-Hoc Management Reporting: Provide financial reports and analysis as needed.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and special projects.
Analyze financial data for trends and risks.
The Expertise Please apply to the position if you meet the following required skills and qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CA qualified 4+ years of financial accounting experience, with multi-currency and intercompany expertise.
Big 4 audit background (tech clients).
Payments Industry Experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Strong accounting knowledge and software proficiency (e.g Netsuite, Excel, Xero) Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Phocas).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and deadline-focused skills.
