About the role We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team, supporting our supplier-related income (rebates). Reporting to the Financial Control Manager, you will work to understand our strategic objectives with an inquisitive mind and a desire to enhance processes and create efficiencies. You will manage the rebates and deals management system (RDM), ensuring timely entry of rebates and accurate calculation of rebate income. You will maintain accurate accruals, proactively reconcile balance sheets, prepare budgets and forecasts, and complete month-end processes, half-year and year-end audits, and statutory requirements. This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering excellent flexibility, based in our Chadstone support office 2-3 days per week, with the remainder working from home in a hybrid arrangement. As a Financial Accountant you will: Proactively reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving any issues. Reconcile data between the rebates system, SAP ERP, and reporting system, investigating discrepancies with stakeholders. Manage the month-end rebate processes to ensure accurate accounting of supplier income entitlements, including rebate income deferrals. Process rebates and deals in the system accurately and drive accountability in the merchandise team to ensure adherence to processes. Maintain General Ledger, Profit Centre, and Allocations in SAP. About you You possess strong commercial acumen and can present detailed information in a simple and concise manner. Your strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, along with your expertise in financial accounting roles, will enable you to excel in this position. Additionally, you will have: 2 years of experience in financial accounting roles, with a retail background highly desirable. Experience using SAP is desirable, and strong Excel skills are a must. A CPA/CA qualification or nearing completion. Good knowledge of technical accounting standards and processes. A proactive approach, self-motivated with strong attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
