About the role We are on the lookout for experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.
This role will see you supporting our supplier related income (rebates).
Reporting to the Financial Control Manager, you will work to understand our strategic objectives with an inquisitive mind and desire to enhance processes and create efficiencies.
You will manage the rebates and deals management system (RDM), which includes trading terms, ensuring rebates are entered in a timely manner and ensuring that rebate income is calculated accurately.
Working with your stakeholders, you will maintain accurate accruals, proactive reconciliation of balance sheets, preparation of budget and forecasts, completion of month endprocesses, half year and year end audit and statutory requirements and work as part of a group of experienced Financial Accountants.
This is a full time permanent opportunity offering excellent flexibility, based in our Chadstone support office 2 – 3 days per week with the rest working from home in a hybrid working arrangement.
As a Financial Accountant you will: Proactively reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and problem solving any issues uncovered.
Reconcile data between rebates system, SAP ERP & reporting system, investigating and resolving any discrepancies with relevant stakeholders.
Manage the month end rebate processes to ensure all supplier income entitlements are accounted for accurately, including the calculations relating to rebate income deferrals.
Timely & accurate processing of rebates and deals in the system and drive accountability in the merchandise team to ensure processes and procedures are followed.

About you You have strong commercial acumen with the ability to present detailed information in a simple and concise manner that is easy to understand.
Your strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills, along with your expertise in financial accounting related roles will see you make this role your own.
In addition, you will have:  2 years' experience in financial accounting related roles with a background in retail highly desirable  Experience using SAP is desirable and strong excel skills are a must A CPA/CA qualification or nearing completion Good knowledge of technical accounting standards and processes   A proactive approach, self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve Our culture It's all in a day's work when you're part of the Officeworks community – where you're not defined by who you are, but what you can do.
