What you'll be doing.
The Financial Accountant's primary purpose is to provide support in the successful completion of statutory year end and also month end reporting.
Included in this is ensuring journal entries and reconciliation processes are completed and managed in accordance with statutory requirements and District compliance obligations.
The expected outcome will be the timely, accurate and quality completion of month end results and annual financial statements in accordance with Accounting Standards, Ministry of Health Policy & Procedure manuals and the ISLHD reporting requirements.A little about us.

Selection Criteria

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or equivalent and/or equivalent experience.
Recent and relevant experience in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports along with completion of General Ledger Reconciliations.
Demonstrated understanding of Accounting Standards and their impact on Financial Reporting.
Proven ability to prioritise a varied and high volume workload and proficiency in organisational skills and excellent time management skills.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management and staff.
Including an ability to work as part of a team that understands and practices quality improvements and customer services principles.
Demonstrated high level analytical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to interpret data and develop strategies to address results.
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications and experience using databases, reporting tools and financial systems such as Oracle.
