We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Accountant to lead and develop our financial accounting team.
This role provides guidance and advice to enhance the Finance function while contributing to the development of best practices across Three Blue Ducks.
About the Role:
Three Blue Ducks is a growing company that emphasises career progression and development.
As our Financial Accountant, you will oversee the financial health of all five of our venues, providing accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and robust support to drive business decisions.
Based in our Rosebery Head Office, this is a hands-on role that connects directly with venue teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations across the board.
Key Responsibilities
Create precise financial statements and manage the month-end procedures and reconciliations.
Update and monitor cashflow reports to ensure accurate forecasting and financial stability.
Oversee the preparation and review of Profit and Loss statements to evaluate venue performance.
Ensure the balance sheet is accurate and up-to-date through regular review and reconciliations.
Collaborate with the external CFO and accountants on tax compliance, reporting, and other financial matters.
Provide financial insights and strategies to help venues meet and exceed budgets.
Manage payroll processing, ensuring compliance with awards, taxes, and superannuation.
Complete and lodge Business Activity Statements in compliance with tax regulations.
Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Address and resolve accounts-related queries across all venues.
Process invoices, manage vendor payments, and prepare accounts payable reports.
Handle invoicing, payment tracking, and receivables reporting to maintain cash flow.
Track and analyse venue costs, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
Supervise and evaluate revenue and expense centres, providing analyses of discrepancies and emerging patterns.
Support audits, financial analysis, and other ad hoc accounting tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
Qualified accountant with relevant degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role (ideally hospitality or multi-site operations).
Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Xero.
Exceptional attention to detail and Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines on a variety at tasks.
Leadership and mentoring skills
A team player with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders both internally and externally to collaborate on tasks.
