Financial Accountant Sydney CBD, Sydney, Australia About the role A Financial Accountant role within the C&I team that requires an experienced hands-on accountant to work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant and stakeholders across different states to ensure the delivery of a high-quality accounting and reporting for the Navitas Group.
Key Responsibilities Performing timely and accurate end-of-month processes including proper revenue and expense recognition, overhead allocations and accruals for designated companies.Preparation of timely and accurate monthly Navitas Group financial reporting packages for designated companies.Preparation of monthly financial and management reporting package including variance analysis validation.Preparing the designated month-end balance sheet reconciliations by the due date and ensuring that reconciling items are promptly resolved and cleared.Ensuring the proper integration of data into the General Ledger and alignment with the student management system and payroll.Provide support in the management of Institute approved scholarships.Ensure the accurate calculation and provision of Royalty amounts.Ensure the accurate calculation and accounting of commissions payable.Assisting with preparation of data for annual financial statements, income tax returns, FBT returns, GST returns, IAS returns and Payroll Tax returns to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all statutory reporting requirements.Maintaining the fixed assets registers for the designated companies and coordinating the annual periodic inventory verification with custodians.Assisting with interim and year end audit.Assisting with ad hoc projects as required from time-to-time.The person we seek will ideally have the following: Demonstrated experience in Financial Accounting role.A strong level of computer literacy and strong excel skills.Can-do attitude and ability to step up and support the Senior Financial Accountant.Customer service focused with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders' enquiries.Ability to work as a team and independently and utilise a level of initiative.Qualified Chartered Accountant, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.What we can offer you: Working for a leading global education provider.Great company culture and inclusive workplace.Opportunities to work on projects across different areas.Passionate and supportive team.About Us Navitas is a leading global education provider that has helped generations of learners transform their lives through education.
