The Financial Accountant is a key member of the Financial Accounting team which is responsible for participating in providing high quality financial information to both internal and external parties.
The Financial Accountant will participate in the preparation of monthly and yearly reports by collecting data, analysing and investigating variances, summarising data, information and trends.
The Finance team provides a range of financial support and analysis services to all GV Health's internal and external stakeholders.
The Financial Accounting team is responsible for managing GV Health's external reporting and statutory reporting requirements, including financial statements, audit and assurance processes, as well as GV Health's compliance with the Australian Accounting Standards.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation of aspects of GV Health's external reporting and statutory reporting requirements, ensuring the integrity of GV Healths accounts and compliance with relevant accounting standards, providing expert analysis and advice to stakeholders, as well as managing the accounting treatment of GV Health's non-financial assets.
This role will work closely with key external and internal stakeholders, including Department of Health and Department of Treasury and Finance.
The successful candidate will have: Possession of a tertiary qualification in accounting or related field with eligibility for or progress towards membership to one of the professional bodies (CAANZ, CPA Australia or IPA) Strong conceptual and financial analysis skills with proven ability to analyse and resolve accounting issues and/or related problems.
Proven experience in a similar financial accounting role Strong Knowledge and application of accounting standard (AASB/IFRS) Experience using an ERP accounting system, ideally FMIS (Oracle) Position Description: CLICK HERE If qualifications are a requirement for this position, please attach a copy in support of your application.
