What's the role?Join News Corp Australia as a Financial Accountant on a 9-month contract, starting in January 2025. In this role, you will provide accurate financial information and insights to support decision-making and financial planning across the organisation. You will be responsible for maintaining and analysing financial records while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory controls.Responsibilities Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in accordance with established accounting principles and policies.Reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts, and other financial records to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain the accuracy of financial data.Analyse and report on Financial Statement balances and movements to ensure accurate financial reporting.Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, SOx regulations, and company policies by monitoring and enforcing internal controls and procedures.Implementation of tactical changes via automation, streamlining or elimination (if necessary) of processes.Assist in the preparation of financial schedules and documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and addressing auditor inquiries.Who are you?You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and have a CPA/CA (preferred).You have proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role with strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.You have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.You are an effective communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders and present financial information clearly.News BenefitsNews Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
