Financial AccountantJob no: 521997Work type: SalariedLocation: MelbourneCategories: FinanceDue to an internal promotion, we are currently looking for a new Financial Accountant to join our Finance team here at Australian Venue Co., based out of our central support office in Melbourne.In this role, you will be responsible for:
Assisting with the month-end process, focusing on Head Office departments and labour costs.Preparation of management reporting and analysis of Head Office costs, including identifying and explaining causes of variances to budget.Assisting with the annual Head Office budget-setting process.Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation of material reconciling items.Working as part of the Financial Accounting team to assist with preparation of monthly board reporting and annual financial reports.Assist Financial Reporting Manager in being key contact for co-ordination of the audit process, including responding to queries as and when they arise.Skills & Attributes:Technical or functional expertise including excellent numeracy skillsAccuracy and attention to detailEffective organisation and time management skills.Ability and desire to grow with the organisation.Analytical and problem-solving skills.High level of drive, motivation, initiative and resilience.Strong written and verbal communication skillsHonesty, integrity and trustAbility to work in a teamQualifications & experienceCA or CPA qualified with 2-3 years of practical experience within a large or mid-tier accounting firm or a similar role in industry.Exposure to and understanding of financial reporting obligations and the audit process preferred but not essentialExperience in use of accounting applications and ability to adapt to new systemsIntermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills.What's in it for you?Competitive salary + superannuationA fast-paced and supportive environmentExposure to a wealth of industry knowledgeAccess to staff discounts on food and drink across all 200+ venuesClear development opportunitiesBeing a part of Australia's fastest growing hospitality businessWFH hybrid environment (3 days WFH option over a two-week cycle)We value the diversity of our employees' experiences, talents, and cultures.
