Hays are proud to be working with a leading Tasmanian brand in their search for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. With a state-wide presence, they have a head office in southern Tasmania and are well known for being an excellent place to work.
Your new role
Based in the Hobart CBD, and reporting into Financial Controller, this is an integral role that runs the day-to-day financial operations of the business with a high level of autonomy. As the Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
Prepare monthly, annual financial statements and other reports Perform day to day accounting activities in an accurate and timely manner Prepare and review Income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax returns Financial Accounting, including liaising with auditors as required Provide system improvements and efficiencies Other project related work as required What you'll need to succeed
A self-starter, you'll ideally be degree qualified, and have completed your CA/CPA. You'll have demonstrated experience in a similar role. With a dedication to continuous improvement, you will be financially savvy with advanced Excel skills. Your excellent communication skills will be underpinned by strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities through which you can demonstrate good judgement and financial acumen. You'll enjoy working with a team, liaising with various stakeholders across the business and enjoy working with a high level of autonomy.
Prior to commencement, you'll need to undergo a national police check.
