The Financial Accountant supports the Business Manager in the delivery of strong financial sustainability and accountability. This includes preparing or reviewing financial reports, preparations for internal and external audit and management as well as preparation of all day-to-day finance activities. The Financial Accountant supports the Business Manager in seeking opportunities for grant funding. The position is located at MacKillop Catholic College . This position is a permanent part time position, across 5 business days, from 8.30am to 12.00pm (minimum 17.5 hours a week).
Essential Criteria: The following selection criteria are required to achieve the outcomes in the context of this position. Applicants will need to provide evidence of their capacity to transfer their knowledge and skills achieving the outcomes of this position.
Tertiary qualifications in accounting. Membership of a professional accounting body (CA/ CPA) or working towards the membership. Demonstrated experience in financial and accounting operations and accounting standards. Knowledge and experience in budgeting and financial reporting as well as bookkeeping. Communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships. Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills to operate in an environment managing confidential sensitive information. An understanding of and commitment to the ethos of Catholic education. NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card). Desirable Criteria: Experience in a financial role within a school environment. Experience in management of staff. Knowledge and understanding of the finance and payroll modules of the Technology One system. Commencing mid February 2025.
