About the Role:We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Accountant to join our team and support our financial operations through accurate reporting, analysis, and practical advice. This role is vital in ensuring our organisation's finances are well-managed, compliant, and aligned with our community-focused values. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative environment and bring strong organisational and problem-solving skills.Monday to Friday | Full-Time Position (38 hours)Key Responsibilities:Assisting in the development and implementation of budgetary and accounting policies to support our programs and services.Preparing and lodging tax returns and ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.Producing accurate financial statements and reports for management, boards, and other stakeholders.Conducting financial reviews and preparing reports on areas such as funding, operational costs, and organisational sustainability.Examining income and expenditure to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Providing financial and taxation advice to support the organisation's planning and operations.Monitoring cash flow and assessing financial risks related to major projects and initiatives.Processing fortnightly payroll while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy legislation.Researching and implementing accounting systems, including providing training and support for staff where required.Maintaining and improving internal control systems to safeguard the organisation's resources and ensure compliance.Responding promptly to queries from staff, management, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.Ideally, You Will Be:Experienced in managing financial data with high accuracy and attention to detail.Skilled in interpreting and communicating financial information in a way that is clear and accessible to non-financial staff and stakeholders.Proficient in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools.Knowledgeable about compliance requirements, including taxation, payroll, and financial reporting.Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Confident working both independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.Familiar with the financial needs of not-for-profit or community organisations (desirable but not essential).If you have a positive 'can do' attitude and pride yourself on your professionalism and a strong work ethic we would like to hear from you now.This position offers an annual salary of $80,000–$90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.Please provide a resume, cover letter and current references.******Only suitable applicants will be contactedJob Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per yearSchedule:Day shiftWork Location: In personApplication Deadline: 23/01/2025
