We take pride in our focus on safety, while driving a strong people-focused culture to make transformations toward a sustainable and smart future.About the roleReporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the General Ledger and assist in month end, half-year end and year end statutory reporting.The key responsibilities for this role include:Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.Review of intercompany transactions and prepare month end intercompany reconciliations.Management of Fixed Assets Register including monthly depreciation and other related journals.Oversee periodic GST/ BAS, FBT, PAYG, Payroll tax and WHT processes.Maintenance of prepayments schedule and ensure monthly journals are correctly posted.Review of ABS Surveys process.Oversee fortnightly payroll allocation process.Managing monthly overhead accruals.Maintain operating lease schedules in line with IFRS 16 and ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records relating to operating leases and Right of Use assets.Maintain month end currency conversion rates in Workday.Oversee monthly payroll and related (AL, LSL, STI, LTI etc.) accrual journals.Provide finance information for the monthly management reporting pack.Liaise with external auditors to resolve audit queries as and when required.About YouTo be successful you will have:Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, or other relevant professional qualification OR Professional member of CA or CPA.At least 3 years' experience in a similar role or public practice experience looking for the first move to commercial.Flexible and willingness to learn new skills and gain new experience.Ability to analyse problems and initiate/ work towards solutions.Ability to work to tight deadlines.Technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge and experience.Experience in balance sheet reconciliation and problem solving.Tax compliance experience – BAS/ GST, FBT, PAYG, Payroll Tax.Advanced MS Excel skills.Prior experience with ERP system ("Workday" is preferred).The new Verbrec brand represents our evolution and continued growth by leveraging emerging techniques and technologies for the benefit of our clients.
