POSITION DESCRIPTIONJOB DETAILSPosition: Financial AccountantLocation: Brisbane City, close to Central StationReports To: Chief Financial OfficerJOB SUMMARYTo maintain the financial accounting and reporting requirements of Our Client's project entities (joint ventures and trusts) and ensuring all financial information is prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards.Work with the Executive Directors and Financial Controller to build and maintain an excellent working relationship with Joint Venture partners and investors.To assist this with a constant flow of information, limiting the delays in receiving funds and ensuring their confidence in the group's ability to manage the project and their investment in these projects.Build and maintain professional relationships, including with internal staff, external auditors, tax agents, banks, property agents, solicitors and compliance entities, such that there are high levels of communication and reliability.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProjects and Property Accounting- Maintenance of Joint Venture accounts.- Communicate and provide information to Joint Venture partners.- Prepare distribution calculations and arrange for payments to partners.- Oversee property revenue and outgoings expenses for retail and commercial property entities.- Ensure correct valuations and impairments are recorded.Management Reporting- Monthly corporate group consolidated accounts - P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.- Other financial reports to be included in Executive Committee and Board papers.- Assist in maintaining the general ledger for all group and project entities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of issued financial reports.- Maintain accounts in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.- Assist with setting and maintaining adequate controls over the finance functions.Tax Requirements- BAS – complete BAS for project entities and corporate (when needed).Monitor GST treatments on an ongoing basis.- Income Tax – assist in preparation of annual ITRs for corporate (if needed) and project entities.Cash and Loan Management- Oversee project cash balances and short-term requirements on a weekly basis.- Assist in providing information to banks and development team pertaining to construction loan draw downs.- Assist in longer-term cash flow forecast as part of monthly 3-way forecasting.General- Provide assistance and oversight of other tasks performed by other staff when needed, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general financial administration.- Bank recs for required entities as needed.- Intercompany transactions and balances.Requirement to understand the group structure and how related entities transactions impact other entities.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITIES AND OTHER TRAITS- Thorough understanding of bookkeeping and accounting concepts.- Awareness of various Tax and other statutory obligations.- Ability to comprehend complex issues with a very analytical approach.- Good understanding of the construction and property industry would be desirable.- Excellent communication skills.- Excellent time management and organizational skills.- High degree of computer literacy.- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows generally.QUALIFICATIONS- Business/Commerce degree specializing in accounting.- Member of one of the recognized Australian Accounting Bodies (CA or CPA), or studying towards completion.This role requires full week in office.Half Friday off available.Flexibility Start/Finish available.Bonus/Incentives available.Salary Negotiable.At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.We actively encourage applications from any background.experience4 yearsskillsBookkeeping / Accounting concepts Tax / Statutory obligations awareness Analytical approach Construction / Property industry knowledge (desirable) Excellent communication Superior time management / organizationqualifications- Business/Commerce degree specializing in accounting- Membership in recognized Australian Accounting Bodies (CA or CPA)or studying toweducationBachelor Degree
