Financial Accountant Needed , Full-Time Role, Site based 30 mins from Ballarat. Excellent Opportunity
Your new company Hays Recruitment have partnered with a well-known manufacturing organisation based near Ballarat, they are currently looking to hire an experienced Financial Accountant on a full-time basis. This is a progressive role in which they want a candidate that continues to progress with the organisation.
Your new role As an experienced Financial Accountant, your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist in the management of financial reporting requirements, including cashflow, balance sheet, profit and loss, management reporting and other Group Reporting requirements. Assist in the management and preparation of journals to ensure all month-end and year-end transactions are posted into the general ledger. Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenue and liabilities). Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies and errors. Assist in forecast cost and revenue, budget preparations and financial trend analysis. Review existing processes for improvement and develop new processes where gaps are identified. Develop and manage preparation of general ledger reconciliations and responsibility for clearing of reconciliation items. Improve existing ways of working by conducting thorough root-cause analyses of inherent process issues, and engage stakeholders where relevant to enable collaborative decision-making on agreed improvements. Manage payments and customer accounts reconciliation. Provide ad-hoc analysis to Management using commercial acumen and calling out key drivers for variances. Attend to ad-hoc financial accounting related tasks as delegated by the Financial Controller. What you'll need to succeed Proven minimum 2-year work experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role. CA/CPA qualified or near qualified. Manufacturing industry experience is advantageous. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Accounting Software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, Exo). In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures. Solid knowledge of accounting regulations, principles and standards, including statutory tax and accounting compliance. Excellent math skills with an attention to detail. Time-management abilities. Strong communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to operate autonomously and a team player. Highly organised, independent, have good technical knowledge, and have good commercial sense.
