What you will be doing in this role: The Financial Accountant will work closely with the UK Finance team to ensure financial and tax compliance of all BSR Australian entities. This role is a technical role which includes statutory and tax accounting for all Australian entities and will be exposed to the operational side of the business. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to manage and oversee specific finance functions and to provide support to both internal and external stakeholders. What you will be doing: BAS / GST, FBT preparation and lodgement Payroll preparation and submission. Liaising with ATO on all correspondence. Annual and ad hoc company secretarial matters. Monthly and year-end balance sheet preparation for Australian entities, to include reconciliations where appropriate. Aid the Finance Team during month-end processes. Preparation of year-end financial reporting pack for group and Australian auditors including statutory account review and preparation, as necessary. Assist in developing and managing financial systems, databases, policies, and procedures. Corporate finance due diligence liaison with third parties. Miscellaneous reporting as required. Assist in maintaining the general ledger. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor and analyse budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations. Assist the Group Financial Controller with managing Australian entity insurances. Maintaining day to day banking relationship Australian Bureau of Statistics What skills you will need for this role: Required skills: A qualified accountant. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years practice-based experience looking for their first or next role in industry. Intermediate to advanced use of excel. Financial reporting experience – producing statutory accounts from TB including disclosures. Tax experience – producing GST returns and corporation tax computations. Ability to work to tight deadlines. Organised and methodical approach to working. Self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
