Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant this Financial Accountant is responsible for month-end tasks including preparing the group reporting and management reporting. They will use their technical accounting knowledge to ensure balance sheet reconciliations are complete and accurate as well as provide detailed variance analysis which includes insights for the wider business.
In addition, as the Financial Accountant, you will play a major role in assisting with tax and statutory reporting including FBT, BAS and Payroll Tax. You will maintain the fixed assets register and reconcile commissions. This is an all-encompassing financial accounting role with an opportunity to be involved in major business projects.
Responsibilities Performing timely and accurate end-of-month processes including proper revenue and expense recognition, overhead allocations and accruals for designated companiesPreparation of timely and accurate monthly Group financial reporting packages.Preparation of monthly financial and management reporting packages including variance analysisPreparing designated month-end balance sheet reconciliations by the due dateEnsuring the proper integration of data into the General LedgerAssisting with the preparation of annual financial statements, income tax returns, FBT returns, GST returns, IAS returns and Payroll Tax returnsMaintaining the fixed assets registersLiaising with Group Finance, including Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as requiredAssisting with ad hoc projects and the general needs of the finance function as required Candidate Profile
You are highly energetic and eager to learn and develop in your career. You are degree-qualified in Accounting and are CA or CPA-qualified (or on the path to completing). You have a strong understanding of key accounting standards and experience working with a large P&L. You have exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are resilient and enjoy working and learning in a fast-paced environment. A passion for continuous improvement and taking things to the next level is at the core of who you are. With solid Excel skills and experience with Oracle is highly regarded.
