The Gig We're searching for a Financial Accountant to join our team on a 6 month maximum term contract with the possibility of extension, supporting our Finance Manager and CFO with day-to-day accounting tasks, including month-end reconciliation and assistance with preparing monthly and year end financial statements.
Collaborate closely with our finance team on ad-hoc analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making in our growing business, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements during external audits.
Responsibilities: Oversee month-end and year-end close process including balance sheet, profit & loss reconciliations and consolidation workings Prepare weekly cash flow reports and forecasts Review accounts payable payments and employee calculations including payroll accruals Manage fixed asset register, R&D timesheet records, and provide finance team training and backup support Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting requirements, tax return workings, and BAS returns Assist senior leaders with financial analysis, budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc finance tasks Support external auditors and evaluate financial processes and systems.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field CA or CPA qualified, or almost at completion Experience in financial accounting or related roles (eg.. audit).
In particular, demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, analysis and compliance with accounting standards Proficiency in accounting software systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience with extracting and manipulating data stored in relational databases (for example, through the use of SQL) will be viewed favourably Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams Additional Information The perks behind the work Healthengine is where you'll be your best self.
