Core duties include regular analysis and presentation of financial information to support business area decision making.
Finance Business Partners also assist with the development, implementation and management of internal budgets.Financial Statements Team Members ensure the integrity of the AFP's financial information in SAP and compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
Core duties include oversighting the accuracy of the AFP's general ledger including month end processes, and ensuring financial statements comply with relevant requirements including Public Governance Performance and Accountability, Financial Reporting Rule 2015 (FRR) and Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations.Taxation Team Members predominantly focus on ensuring compliance with the AFP's taxation obligations and providing a suitable level of support for the AFP and its members deployed to missions internationally.
Core duties include advice to support areas where required, liaison with key stakeholders with information needs including the Australian Taxation Office and lodgement of required statutory reports.
Success in the role requires a comprehensive knowledge of FBT requirements for large employers.Investment Plan Team Members provide a suitable level of support for the key stakeholders of the AFP's Investment Plan and assist in the management of their budget through timely and accurate data analysis.
Core duties include the oversight of the integrity of the SAP Investment Plan structure and SAS Reporting tool, including relevant month end processes.
Team members assist with the development and implementation of the Investment Plan and should have a good understanding of the Asset Management Policy.External Budgets Team Members are responsible for preparing costings for New Policy Proposals and managing the AFP external budget.
Team members assist with the preparation of the Portfolio Budget Statements, Portfolio Additional Estimates and Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook.
Duties also include putting adjustments through the Central Budget Management System (CBMS), writing briefs for Senate Estimates, and other Federal Budget matters.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.What is the role?Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for a role in the Finance and Budget Management Branch.The Finance and Budget Management Branch is responsible for the provision of efficient, effective and compliant financial management and advice across the AFP.
The branch has a number of current and anticipated vacancies available at the band 5 level.
Members will be required to work effectively in small teams under the direction of Team Leaders.You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
