The branch has a number of current and anticipated vacancies available at the band 7 level.As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.What will you do?Lead and develop a team of Finance Professionals.Deliver timely financial information, analysis and advice to assist the organisation in making decisions.Establish a working relationship and communicate with external stakeholders, Assistant Commissioners, Commanders and other operational staff to assist with financial management, reporting and budget development.Work flexibly across various teams depending on work requirements.Challenge existing work practices in an effort to gain efficiencies and benefits for the AFP.Supervise and support your team, manage resources and balance competing priorities to deliver timely and accurate results.Successful applicants will be invited to fill various vacancies in the following areas:Finance Business Partners (FBPs) support AFP business areas to manage their budget and finances effectively through timely and accurate advice and analysis.Internal Budgets Team is responsible for allocation and oversight of the AFP internal budget.Investment Plan & Assets Team supports AFP business areas to manage capital budgets and projects through timely and accurate advice and analysis.Financial Reporting Team ensures the integrity of the AFP's financial information and compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including ensuring financial statements comply with Public Governance Performance and Accountability and Australian Accounting Standards.Taxation Team ensures compliance with the AFP's taxation obligations and provides a suitable level of support for the AFP and its members deployed to international missions.External Budgets Team is responsible for preparing costings for New Policy Proposals and manage the AFP external budget.You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.Demonstrated ability to lead a team.The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:Membership of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand or CPA Australia is highly desirableAdditional InformationThis position is an AFP Band Level 7.Proof of a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations (or one dose if the Janssen vaccine was used) will be required if an offer of employment is made.Diversity and inclusion is an operational priority for the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
