The role We are seeking an experienced Finance Team Lead to join our dedicated Milton Finance team.
The Finance Team Lead will oversee a team of Financial Accountants, ensuring the coordination and completion of month-end tasks to meet all deadlines. This role involves managing regulatory reporting requirements, including external audits and contributions to local statutory accounts, ensuring timely completion. Additionally, the Finance Team Lead provides coaching and mentorship to the accounting team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of leading high performing teams as well as supporting accounting functions.
You will need to demonstrate a high degree of collaboration with stakeholders and have a high level of confidence in trouble-shooting issues, as well as having a keen eye for continuous process improvement.
This is a full-time position with flexible working options, including condensed working weeks, working from home, flexible start/finish times - for the right candidate, and respecting core reporting periods.
Areas of responsibility Day to day leadership and mentoring of Accounting PersonnelLead and coordinate the external audit. Ensure the team provide adequate support.Ensuring the accounting is carried out in accordance with the relevant accounting standards and Sandvik Financial Reporting Guidelines.Providing adequate and timely information to cost center managers.Playing a lead role in the month end close process; quarterly closing and year end closing to a tight deadline, coordinating and submitting reports to the Group Accounting teamMonthly review of reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts and variance review of Profit and Loss accounts, including identifying corrective actions.Ensuring duties are completed in accordance with agreed deadlines and to the highest standards.Providing ad-hoc accounting and reporting advice to the business.Completion of and assistance with regulatory returns as required.Lead and coordinate Internal controls testing within the teamProvide input in the preparation of Statutory Consolidated Financial Accounts for Sandvik entities and other required audited Financial Accounts.Mentor and develop direct reportsYour profile You bring extensive financial and corporate accounting experience within a large corporate environment. Your proven ability to work with stakeholders and deliver customer-focused service is complemented by your tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting and/or CA, CPA certification. You excel at prioritizing your work and delegating tasks to ensure team accountability and efficiency.
You demonstrate a strong understanding of organizational, team, and individual priorities, effectively organizing both your own and your team's work to meet deadlines. You are proficient in the Microsoft 365 suite including Excel and Power BI.
You enhance team efficiency and ensure timely completion of tasks. Your excellent understanding of financial ledger and reporting systems, along with your competence in designing and writing reports, sets you apart.
With strong leadership and interpersonal skills, you communicate effectively, provide constructive feedback, and engage with team members both individually and in groups. You are adept at coaching and developing others, and making sound decisions to solve problems efficiently.
